Dear STL-ODN Members and Fans,

The STL-ODN Board is committed to providing consistent value to our members while also being good stewards of our organization’s resources. Based on recent trends, we are making changes in our program cancellation policy to help us achieve this balance.

Over the past few months, we have experienced record attendance levels at our monthly programs, in some instances filling the venue to maximum capacity. While we are thrilled to have this heightened activity, this raises an important issue for which we need your help. In the past, we have allowed people to register in advance and pay at the door, but have never enforced a cancellation or no-show policy for those who register but do not attend. This has become an issue because we are contracted with The Heights for the remainder of 2010 and there is no additional space to be rented, so increasing our capacity is not an option at this time. This means that anyone who registers and does not show prevents others from attending, and because our costs are fixed in terms of facilities and catering, we are then unable to recover those costs.

In response to this issue, we will be implementing a new cancellation policy for our programs starting with the May program. The details of the cancellation policy can be found below. We believe this new policy will help make our registration process more equitable and effective for all our program attendees. Additionally, the new policy still allows you to choose whether to pay by check or credit card, in advance or at the door.

We thank you for your assistance in making our programs maximally accessible to those who wish to attend. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out. We look forward to seeing you at our next program!

Kind regards,

St. Louis Organization Development Network Board
