Technical Assistance Manager (Part Time or Contractor)

ST. LOUIS FOR KIDS, a regional non-profit intermediary focused on improving the quality, accessibility and sustainability of non-school hour programs for youth, is seeking a dynamic manager to join its team.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Technical Assistance Manager is responsible for the effective, seamless delivery of consulting and technical assistance services to organizations participating in the Reaching Our Youth Institute (ROYI), a federal Compassion Capital Fund Demonstration Program. The selected candidate will promote positive outcomes for youth by helping smaller, faith-based and community-based youth serving organizations increase their effectiveness in the five areas of capacity building which include: leadership development, organizational development, revenue development, program development and community engagement. To accomplish this, the Technical Assistance Manager works directly with participating organizations in his or her areas of expertise and/or indirectly by assigning other ROYI staff and consultants to work with the organizations to help them achieve their capacity building goals.
The Technical Assistance Manager must possess exceptional cultural competency skills with specific experience in working with leaders from diverse backgrounds, faith communities and organizations serving high risk populations. S/he should be knowledgeable about youth development and evidence-based or best practices in non profit management, organizational development and capacity building. The Technical Assistance Manager should have excellent communications skills, experience facilitating small groups and have previous management/supervision experience. Additionally, s/he should be computer savvy, detail oriented, flexible and able to manage multiple priorities. Evening and weekend work is required.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and significant experience in a related field of study (social work, education, management, counseling, organizational development, human services, business etc.). Master’s degree strongly preferred. Evidence of ongoing professional development in non profit best practices in at least two of the areas of capacity building is required. 


Experience:
At least 10 years professional experience; half of which should be in a nonprofit leadership, supervision or consulting role. Experience teaching, training, counseling and/or facilitating small groups. Volunteer or professional experience working with youth is strongly preferred.
