INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGNER NEEDS
1st need:
Looking for a local strong Instructional Designer, with a preferred background in financial, that has had some project management experience as well.
Project would require the resource to work onsite at the client, in Downtown STL, working average of 32 hours 4 days a week. Project span is 5 months, with the possibility of expanding beyond.
We would hope to identify a few resources within the next week or two, with project starting immediately after that.
2nd need:
Have a variety of projects up and coming and need to identify some local Instructional Design talent to have in my pool. Industries, project lengths and hours will vary.

Overview
Provide instructional design services in support of proposal and sold program development to include the following delivery methods and media: classroom, self-study, on-the-job, print, video, computer-based and web-based training; and other delivery methods such as satellite and distance learning.
Scope
Employment is on a contract basis with varying contract lengths.
Responsibilities may include the following:
- Conduct needs assessments.
- Analyze work setting and characteristics of learners.
- Perform job, task, and/or content analysis.
- Write, sequence, and prioritize objectives.
- Specify instructional strategies.
- Develop recommendations for deliverables.
- Develop instructional materials.
- Develop performance measurements.
- Evaluate instruction/training.
- Plan, lead, and monitor instructional design projects. (Lead ID)
- Present Maritz “Instructional Approach to Learning” to internal and external clients to obtain their buy-in (see hand-out).
Expectations
Overall Project Management Support
- Develop schedule for ID-related tasks and write work plan. (Lead ID)
- Clearly communicate work assignments, standards, roles, and project progress to ID team members. (Lead ID)
- Manage quality of instructional design team products. (Lead ID)
- With Training/Project Manager, develop pricing specifications for deliverables.
- Participate in project evaluation.
Professional Leadership
- Lead ID meetings. (Lead ID)
- Co-deliver internal presentations and training, including Train-the-Trainers sessions, as appropriate.
- Initiate new resources and ideas on projects and deliverables, as appropriate.
- Apply current research and theory to the practice of instructional design.
- Apply Maritz approaches to training/instructional design, including the Maritz “Instructional Approach to Learning” (see hand-out).
Administrative
- Prepare and file documentation/reports in a timely fashion.
- Submit expense reports on time, with integrity.
- Make requests of, and respond to inquiries from, client and Maritz courteously and professionally.
Qualifications
- 5 or more years and a proven track record in training research/assessment, learning design, development, delivery and evaluation are essential.
- Demonstrated proficiency in 3 or more ISPI-recognized Instructional Design competencies.
- Demonstrated high-order thinking, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Communicate effectively in oral, visual and written form.
- High client service orientation.
- Expertise in leading a team of writers.
- Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Bachelor's Degree; Master's Degree preferred.
