Organizational Development Consultant
Description (Atlanta or St. Louis)
The Organizational Development Consultant serves as an internal consultant to the business and to senior HR leaders supporting key business objectives. OD Consultants work across geographies and across lines of business and centers of excellence, on enterprise-wide global strategic imperatives. The work is focused on assessing and diagnosing organizational needs, driving change, and building high performing teams and leadership capability to deliver on the business strategy. Development of a leadership pipeline and blended learning opportunities for high potential leaders is vital for success in this role. The role provides thought leadership, hands-on consulting and coaching and reports to the Global Learning & Development Leader.
Core Responsibilities:
- Conduct needs assessments at all levels of the organization utilizing appropriate data collection methods to ensure the appropriate learning and development solution is recommended
- Design blended learning solutions using instructional design techniques that will best meet the objectives identified through a needs assessment
- Partner with business leaders and their HR partners to create a roadmap for change in key areas that have the need to build capability, such as aligning competencies to roles, creating a banded environment in support of a development culture
- Facilitate learning through a variety of media including classroom, webinars, virtual and blended approaches and develops measures of success associated with learning and development investments
- Conduct performance consulting focused on strategy development, execution of key initiatives, team effectiveness, business process optimization (LEAN and Work Out) and readiness of leadership bench
- Provide thought leadership on best practices in the OD space, including direction related to polarity management, appreciative inquiry, complex adaptive systems and holistic approaches to organizational learning and development
- Must create an assessment strategy to identify appropriate assessments and leverage assessments effectively to create awareness, develop capability and drive personal and professional growth
Qualifications/Experience/Skills:
- BA/BS required
- Master’s degree in Human Resources, OD, or Industrial Psychology preferred
- 5+ years Organizational Development experience
- Strong facilitation and learning/development/training skills
- Strong consideration will be given to candidates who are certified in one or more of the following skills/methodologies: 360 assessments, The Hogan Assessment, MBTI, HBDI, Lominger International, coaching certification, EQi, Birkman
